I LIVE AGAIN - Uganda, Africa
I Live Again Uganda is an indigenous non governmental organization restoring hope, healing and identity to victims of war. Northern Uganda experienced more than 20 years of war due to a rebel insurgency led by Joseph Kony. Kony started a rebel militia known as the Lords Resistance Army. Over the 20 year period over 66,000 children and youth were forced to become child soldiers or wives to the commanders in the rebel army. Over 1.8 million individuals were forcibly displaced from their homes and villages into internal displacement camps for safety. The length of the war and life in the displacement camps has left devastating effects upon generations. We are thankful for I LIVE AGAIN UGANDA and the passion and skills they have to bring restoration to their own nation and beyond.
Resettlement of internally displaced families
One of the many things that we LOVE about I Live Again Uganda is that they are family focused. While many wonderful organizations are focusing on women and children I Live Again Uganda is recognizing the value and importance of the development and empowerment of men. I Live Again Uganda works closely with all members of the family - men, women and children ensuring that each one is honored and recognized.
SOUTH SUDANESE REFUGEES
This coming 2019, I Live Again Uganda will be expanding into serving South Sudanese Refugees. There are over 1,000,000 South Sudanese refugees in the northern region of Uganda living in refugee settlement camps. I Live Again Uganda is passionate and ready to bring trauma counseling support to the people of South Sudan and has be welcomed by governing authorities to meet this urgent need.
